| Hello, not sure if posting in correct place but I'm new and been in MMT for anot three months at 75mg once a day. I feel better and I'm able to function better than I ever remember. At first I was going to taper off, however, I'm doing, and feel so well (like I always thought I should) I have decided to take this medication as some people take Adderal or Prozac. The only bad experience I've had with my clinic is I was 2 min late one day and they wouldn't let me dose-/despite how much I pleaded. Aside from that my doctor has apreived every increase (although when I request and increase of 10mg he gives 5mg. Im just waiting to get more take homes(only get Sun now) so I can plans more stable work schedule, as my job required me ro travel out of town on short notice, so, I haven't been able to do that. I guess my only question is: is 75mg enough? Each time I increase I feel a lot better for a couple weeks and them level-off but a little betwe each time before the previous increase. Thanks. Just wanted to introduce myself. | |

| Hey upriser... Thats good you look at methadone as your medicine, because it is. Everyones diffrent it took me a few years to get at my right dose, I have a split dose 80/80. That works for me,, you will know when your at your right dose.
Doesnt it feel great to feel normal again!! well normal??? i dont know about that but you know what I mean..
good luck

| Wow. 80/80 sounds really good. I appreciate what u said. And it's unfortunately that there's so many negative opinions and connotations associated with MMT, but I think it's improving somewhat. Especially when friends and family see how we'll I'm doing compared to before I started treatment. I've never actually "seen" my doctor for an increase. We just fill our a form--in the past I've asked to go up 10 and he does 5.
So this was my first weekend at taking 3 days takehome, and I think I'll request and increase Monday. My only reservationis that he will take my "takehomes" for a while. Any thoughts on this? My counselor is really cool and she has helped my a lot. She even got me an 8 day exception so I could go to Jamaica with me family.
Anyway, let me know what u think and I'll check back to see if u answered before I go in on Monday.
Respectfully, U7 | |

| Hi Im so sorry I didnt get to respond, anyway I hope you got your increase, and like I said everyone is diffrent, your dose doesnt have anything to do with your take homes, now if you got a positive UA then there gonna take your take homes, your not using so no worries.. They only go up 5 mgs at a time, you will know when your at your right dose..
Have a great day
