PostSubject: 30 Years of Federal Demands that has fallen on deaf ears.   30 Years of Federal Demands that has fallen on deaf ears. EmptySat Jul 27, 2013 5:59 pm

This is from the book "Coping with Psychiatric and Psychological Testimony",
by Dr. David Faust,  and Jay Ziskin

People in mental health have been bombozzoling us all for quite a while. Not
all of them are bad. but in my blog "The Worst Treatment I Ever Had; Crisis
in Substance use treatment.  I present a study that states that only 28% of
professionals in mental health read scientific articles and 30% attend scientific
session (as compaired to clinical) at conferences. I think this is shameful given
that our lives depends on the treatment that they give us.

I suggest that every time you hear a psychotype make a claim for which you think
there maybe questionable.  I think that it is the rule, rather than the exception.
That we should empathetically ask him/her to provide you with the cite of the
reference.  That you would like to read the study. If he quotes to you New Week
or Time magazine you should suspect that your are in trouble.

If this was quoted in 1979 to psychologist in the monthly magazine the monitor.  Why are all
the Federal Agencies continou to promote pseudoscientifically procedures?  Patients have the
right to know, and we should cause a big fause and write to the directors and chiefs of this
federal agencies.  Perhaps I will make a list of emails for you all to write to them.  Don't allow
for Evidence BAsed to become a buzz word. They will continuo to make claims for which they
have no evidence.Sleep Sleep What a Face

This Evidence Based treatment have fallen in deaf ears. In fact the first record I find is
in the Chief of what is not SAMHSA back in the 1970, for those who are interested I find the
reference..... In fact I just found it. it was a Dr. Gerald Klerman, in 1979 wrote to the American
Psychiatric Association in APA's magazine The Monitor November 1979 page 9. quoted as
saying that nothing less than measurable proof of therapeutic success would be acceptable
to the government. "One can not demonstrate the efficacy of therapy in terms of the
"INTENTION OF ITS PROPONENT... never can a therapy can be consider routine and
acceptable on the basis of testimony of authorities... it goes on.
