Well this is a first for me! Hello everyone. I am welcoming FIVE new members in one post. In the last day or so we have had 5 new members join. The most I have done in one post before I think was 3.

My name is RuthAnn. I am one of the moderators of the group and I am also a ORT pt on MMT. I have been on MMT for over 9 yrs.

We are so glad to have you all as new members! I hope you will feel welcome here and that we can be a positive part of your treatment and recovery. The forum is full of great people who can relate to each other by the fact that we all are trying to walk this bumpy road of recovery. We may have all taken different paths to get here, but ultimately we are all on the same road of recovery with MMT now. We also all know how hard that can be sometimes and that even though we have loved ones who may support and try to understand, they really can't understand and that's what we hoped to accomplish with this group.

SO! Feel free to come to us if you have a question, a problem or just something you want to share or get other ppl's opionion about.

LGATES1204, thanks so much for sharing some of your situation and story with us (I will address some of your questions under the rate your programs posts) I hope the rest of you new members will feel comfortable enough to share your story with us as well. In addition I would like to recommend that when you do, please also go to our website at http://www.medicalassistedtreatment.org/ and share your story under the "rate your clinic" or "talk back" catergories. Even if you don't post in the forum, posting there I think is even more crucial. The owners of the website are striving to make things better for all of us on MMT where guidelines, rules and even laws are concerned and they DESPERATELY need our help!

There are more people against MMT treatment than those that actively support it and it is those against it that we are having to fight. The owners use this info that we share to show those in lawmaking positions and to the organizations that regulate MMT treatment to show them them the POSITIVE stories of MMT, not the negative ones that those against MMT are putting in the forefront of peoples minds.

We have to speak out and have just as many positive stories as the negative stories so we can stand our ground. I know that is asking alot. With so many prejudices we have come across from other when they find out we are on MMT, it is something that alot of us try to keep private. But they are fighting against us and if we don't start speaking out they are going to get what they want (those who have NO CLUE!) instead of what we need.

So please, please if you don't share in the forum, at least share there. You don't even have to use your real name.

If any of you need something, please let me know. I want you to know that we are here for you in any way you might need. If you want to speak to someone privately, you can private message me through the forum and I will get back to you as soon as I can.

The main thing I want to stress is that we are so glad you are here and that we are here for you.
