Just wanted to introduce myself!!

hello everyone!! my name is Jessica I am 28 years young:) I am a nursing assistant and am getting ready to start school for my nursing degree(LPN). I have been on methadone for 5 years and it has saved my life!! my sister and I were using together(it was probably awful on my mother during that time)... while i was using i never knew i had the option of methadone people just didnt talk about it. my sister started going first and then told me i saw how well she was doing and decided it was worth a try(i was tired of using but couldnt face going thru withdraw). I have been at the clinic im at for 3 years, they are really down to earth and treat me like a person not just another addict(the first clinic i went to for 2 years was not as nice). i am engaged and have a nice home and a nice car and a wonderful fiance'... we are also trying to have our first child!! i know none of this would be possible without my treatment in methadone. I'm glad it is also safe to take while im pregnant!!! i am very happy and excited to have found this forum for people on methadone. most of my friends/coworkers arent on methadone and dont know much if anything about methadone or heroin addiction. I look forward to meeting all of you!!
