HI RUTH-ANN, THANKYOU FOR THE WARM WELCOME!!! THIS IS THE MOST FANTASTIC AND EMPOWERING ORGANISATION I HAVE DISCOVERED FOR PEOPLE ON METHADONE, THEIR FAMILIES & CARERS AND THE GENERAL COMMUNITY!!!!
I COULD NEVER WORKOUT WHY ANTIDEPRESSANTS DID NOT WORK FOR ME ANY MORE AND I ALWAYS FELT LIKE A FAILURE THAT I HAD JUST SWAPPED HEROIN FOR METHADONE. NOW THANKS TO YOUR ELOQUENT AND SCIENTIFIC DEFINITION OF SUBSTITUTION TREATMENT PROGRAMS I NOW REALISE THAT YES I MAY BE ON METHADONE FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE(AS I HAVE CURRENTLY BEEN ON METHADONE MAINTENANCE PROGRAM FOR THE SECOND TIME IN MY LIFE FOR THE PAST 8YEARS) BUT THAT IS A POSITIVE FACTOR IN MY LIFE AND AN ACCOMPLISHMENT IN ITSELF. SOMETHING THAT I SHOULD FEEL PROUD OF AND NOT ASHAMED OF.
