You need to look into some GOV assistance programs. I was lucky to live
in Pennsylvania. In PA all insurance companies must cover the recovery
cost by the law. So, I had an insurance and it was a big help.

You can read some info about Pennsylvania here or find something like this in your state, pa drug rehab cost and how to pay for it.

Good luck,

Polly
You are partly right about the law in PA.
I did check out the website you posted and according to that website, it is the law that insurance companies are required to pay for inpatient and outpatient care for drug and alcohol "related illness" and if you have a policy in the state you do have a right to appropriate treatment.

But that does not necessarily mean that it has to cover the cost of Methadone. We have another patient here on the forum who's husband was forced to taper off and stop his Methadone treatment because his Medicare stopped paying for the cost of his Methadone.
RuthAnn has posted a news article that is worth reading about what is going on in PA in regards to Methadone Treatment. The link to that news article is here:
http://methadone.forumotion.net/announcements-events-and-breaking-news-f1/senators-unveil-bipartisan-methadone-accountability-package-t513.htm

The date of the article is recent May 26,2010

The whole article can be found at:
http://www.pasenategop.com/news/2010/0510/ward-052610.htm

I am happy for you that you do have the insurance that covers the cost of treatment. In the state that I live in (Vermont) Medicaid does pay for treatment, since we have only one clinic it also pays for Methadone Patients to go to a clinic in New Hampshire to dose not only paying for the Methadone but provides a bus everyday for patients that are not able to get there on their own.
