PostSubject: Gosh, What a way to start the year!   Gosh, What a way to start the year! EmptySat Jan 07, 2012 10:08 pm

i started MMT when i was pregnant with my second child last may. I had her via Csection in september and decided at the last minute not to get my tubes tied because i didnt want to permanently disable myself from having anymore kids because im only 24. My husband and i were "active" twice before my 6week check up and my doctor wanted me to wait until i had my period to put me on birth control- just in case... that day never came. so yesterday, 3 months after my daughter was born, i took a pregnancy test and it was positive. WOW. I would have liked to wait until i was off the meds before having another child because brianna had to stay in the hospital for 19days detoxing. the hospital where i live isn't experienced with detox babies so she had to stay 2hours away in the hospital near my clinic. I stayed 3days with her and 4 days at home with my 2year old. It was tough leaving one child to be with the other. My husband was equally shocked, but we're both looking forward to our new addition. Only problem is We lied to our families and told them my tubes WERE tied and we would not be having anymore. Jokes on us! I have no idea how we're going to explain this one. AWKWARD. When i was using it seemed to take hundreds of tries to get pregnant (Not that we were trying both kids were a surprise) and now that im a little healthier, i'm pregnant right off the bat.

How great for you DONDI,
Please keep in mind that we are always here anytime that you need someone to talk to.
I hope that you are able to succeed in your taper and do well in your recovery.
We have all heard from people who have said that Methadone is not the right thing to do. How would they even guess to know what is right unless they take a walk in your shoes.
Your life, your walk and your recovery. Only you and you alone can know what is right for you. If at anytime you feel like the time isn't right, please don't hesitate to get back into the program. I heard a saying the other day and it hit home for me.
" It is better to be safe, then to be strong"
Good luck and best wishes to ya.
Dee
