I AM HAVING PROBLEMS DEALING WITH MY MMT BECAUSE OF MY LIFE OUTSIDE OF MMT...

Right now it is saturday night and all is quiet on the homefront...it was not this way a couple of hours ago tho...there was complete chaos just an hour ago...we had been renting our second bedroom to a young little girl who is a little pothead...nothing against her or that because neither tommy or i smoke pot as our DOC...the problem is is that Tommy is on florida state parole until the year 2075 and the girl knew this when she came to stay with us...so she took to smoking that skunkweed K2 which stinks so bad, we can't even go out on the porch to smoke our cigarettes...the chances of the parole officer coming to our house is slim to none as tommy is one of the oldest people in the florida parole system and they pretty much trust him...he has not even gotten so much as an administrative violation in the last ten years...but that is not to say that it couldn't happen and now with the way they are trying to come up with a probation drug test for the K2 it looks like they want to outlaw that too...either way, tommy thinks that this girl should be following the rules to the letter especially about the NO ILLEGAL DRUGS OF ANY KIND rule AND I THINK SO TOO AND SO OUT SHE WENT (UNDER GOOD TERMS)...in the meanwhile we got a response from someone who had seen our ad for a room for rent in craig's list...he called from a place called oh hell i can't remember but it's like 90 miles from us...it took him an hour and a half to get to us and we had to drive 75 miles round trip to pick him up...we are not suckers by any means but he told us he lost his wife and daughter in a freak car accident last year so we were gonna try to help him out...once we got him to the house his whole attitude and demeanor changed...neither tommy or i are comfortable with him and are seriously considering putting him right back on the greyhound since it is a couple of blocks from the methadone clinic anyway...no skin off our teeth...i heard him and my husbad having a heated discussion while i was sitting down to type this...one of the things he said was that the people who owned the house he was in ran a boarding house for the elderly and people who could not take care of themselves and that these people mistreated their tenants and starved them and all kinds of things...i called the place and first spoke to a tenant who said that none of what glenn had told us was true at all and then i spoke to the head of the house who told me he was alcoholic and was always drinking on his meds...she told me he is a pathological liar and that if he got too far out of hand to just call the sherriff and they would take him off our hands...he has turned out to be a big ass basket of crazy and we just do not know what the hell to do with him...tommy wants to give him a month so see if he will straighten out but my major problem with him is that when he handed us the $400 for the month's rent of june, and we wtold him he had to buy his own food but that everything else was included (it was in the ctaig's list ad just that way)he started hemmin' and hawn' saying he had to put money away and pay for his wife and daughter's funeral and he didn't even have $50 a month to give us for food...my response was that he received enough in his disability check to pay us the $400 a month, pay ay least $50 a month im food (needed to be more if you ask me) and he could still have a few dollars to put away but hell hell hell NO we were not his family and he is not our kid...it is not our respnsibility to help him put away money nor is it our responsibility to help him get him RX's transferred here or any of that shit...can anyone understand where i'm coming from...we are renting the room to help us with my methadone expenses not because we are at a lack for social company...i enjoy tommy's company all by himself...well, the house is all quiet now and i guess tommy told gary he has til the end of the month to get his shit together or we will take him to the greyhound and just turn him loose...simple as that...we are getting too many other calls from people who are sounding much more normal than this guy who is one nut short of a cobb salad so he better get it together or june 30 he is on his own...we do no mind helping people out as long as it does not jeopardize us in any way...peace out!!!

It's great that your wanting to help people out and at the same time generate a little income to help out with the cost of your methadone. The way the economy is now days every little but helps I know.
Please, be careful though.
A good rule to have is that you make sure to get at least 3 references from potential boarders. And make sure that not all of them are relatives. Sometimes a relative will say anything to help out another family member.
You are wise to ask this last one to leave I agree with you if he has a drinking problem that is not going to help you out any. It may very well be that he is harmless as his former landlord stated but since they told you about the drinking and that you can call the police to have him taken away if need be puts a big red mark out there. Perhaps there is a halfway house in the area that can take him but they won't allow the drinking either.

I did some checking on the K-2 situation and found quite a few articles about it. Illegal is illegal and if there is a chance even a 1% chance that the department of probation and parole could come out to check on your husband, don't take that chance. His freedom is too important.

Good luck with the boarder. I hope you are able to find someone who is not only responsible but respectable as well. Don't let it get you down. You can always come here to vent. We are here to listen
