One more thing going my way...

Today is day 277 of sobriety for me. since entering treatment, i was able to get my driver's license back, see my husband through his heart surgery, have a healthy baby girl, repair my personal relationships, and successfully complete my 6months of probation and 24hours of community service. I love being a stay at home mom, but i want to be out working and helping bring money into our household. My mom lives with us so a babysitter wouldn't be a problem if i had to go to work.
A week ago this restaurant that i had applied to OVER A YEAR AGO called me out of the blue and wanted to know if i had found work yet and if not, would i be interested in coming for an interview. So i said yes and even though i hoped with all my heart i would get the job, i wasn't counting on it because i have a felony on my record(A drug conviction when i was 18) and i have been unable to find work because of that.
Yesterday i went for my interview and one of the managers that was interviewing me told me the reason she called me was because her sister had been convicted of a felony when she was younger and she also had trouble finding work because people are biased. She said she believes that everyone deserves a second chance, AND HIRED ME!!!!!!! i can not tell you how EXCITED i am. It was so strange to get that call out of no where and it led to me getting a job! I've wanted nothing more than to go back to work since BEFORE i started treatment, but no one ever called me back after my interviews. I'm SO HAPPY! This was the one thing that i still needed to do for myself in order to feel content, and i was able to do it. I thank my sobriety for that. I GOT A JOB GUYS!!! I FINALLY GOT A JOB!!!

Well done! Congratulations! This achievement! I know how, and how this feeling for myself You did a great job and if someone does not understand that his personal grief!By this do not pay attention to those who do not understand it!I even envy you! Such a feeling of accomplishment, I know how proud you must feel. We can do anything and I mean anything. You have come so far and I have a feeling you will go even farther.
I am very happy for you, I really am.
I think especially on the job part. I know personally how it can feel to go out and look for a job only to be turned down based not on the fact that you don't know how to do the job but because of having a record. It is wonderful to hear about an employer who believes in others.

den, when i speak of being "clean" for so long, i also mean from other drugs except for methadone. I take 125mgs every day and i'm thinking of asking for an increase on my dose. I've been having some pretty nasty symptoms, the worst of which started 2 weeks ago. I've been waking up in the middle of the night having to shower because i'm so sweaty. I consider anyone clean who is on methadone, using it properly, following their treatment plan, and not taking other drugs. I'm sorry if there was some confusion. Thank you for your reply.
