I would personally like to welcome all of the new members and invite you to open and share. Let us all know what is happening at your Opiate Treatment Programs. It is October and soon Thanksgiving will be here and how many of you are thankful you discovered methadone?
If you really are thankful, then share it with us. We would love to hear how it changed your lives and we have over one hundred members but hardly any stories and I am wondering why? You need to let people know how thankful you are about methadone. I know you can't always talk about it to everyone but we have provided you a safe harbor to share what you would like and talk to others.
RuthAnn is our Moderator and if you haven't met her then you should introduce yourself to her. We always have someone available to help you and we stay open twenty-four hours daily by phone and you can call us if you just need to talk or if you are having problems/ we would love to hear from you. If you can't afford to call then we will call you if you would send us your phone number and the best time to call you. Please send it to my e-mail address at MATDirector@aol.com .
We have some really great members and I would like to thank RuthAnn and Catherine for sharing their stories on our monthly Radio Program last night. Thank you both so much.Thank you for your courage because it will take us standing up for methadone and admitting to others how it has changed our lives and showing people we are normal. We are normal people! Many people are still dying from methadone and those deaths are hurting us and it is why we need to start letting others know who we are and we need to speak up for methadone otherwise we may not always have the privilege of taking it.
You may not could go to your boss and tell Him how methadone changed your life, but you can share it with all the people here and let them know what a difference it made in your life. How about it? It will help you heal by sharing your past and how everything has changed for you. If you have questions, feel free to ask others here and to discuss it. If you have fears then we need you to share them...it is why we are here for you to make your load lighter and we want all of you to know you are loved.
If you have chosen to take methadone, you have taken the first step to change your life. Share what you can about methadone with others and let others know what a difference it has made in your life. Most of us know it is very difficult if you are attending an "Opiate Treatment Program," for it is not easy to dose every day for the first ninety days and to earn take-homes. Many times you find you are discriminated against or maybe you need a dose increase and can't obtain it. Whatever happens to you ...come here and let us know about it and just maybe we can help you but if not we will stand back of you and help you through it all because you will need support. I can say we have some really caring members but I think some of you can do much better and I am hoping you will begin to open up and let us in.
Have a Happy Halloween!

Thanks, RuthAnn and Catherine (Cat)
